The jacket: men’s suit lapel and collar styles ! | MULTILINGUAL STYLE LESSONS

The masculine world of the dandy in a jacket!

It regains its centrality in the wardrobe of the evolved dandy gentleman who, in the name of elegance, never renounces comfort, 100% made in Italy … the Maison Cleofe Finati and its 3 style experts know it well.

Today in the third appointment talks about … jackets and lapels! In which language? why choose! Italian, English and German!

The jacket makes man, and makes him free, mature and self-aware and of his aesthetic choices. The new dandy also wants to know why his jacket and its origins so … let’s take a dip to understand where it all began.  The word “rever” in fact derives from the English “reverse”, which means “contrary”.

It then began to become more common and associated to the current one towards the end of 1860. The jacket has a soul in the fabrics and in its lapels, and the dandy knows it: his jacket dresses and never covers, even in the man ceremony and in the groom fashion. And do you know how to choose your jacket and lapels? cleofe finati will make it … easy and fun!

Because the jackets are not all the same is obvious. What is not at all obvious, however, is knowing how to recognize the difference between the different types of jacket based on the lapels, or on the fabric flaps that spread out from the neck to the chest. The lapels can in fact be of different models and widths and the choice of a type of lapels rather than the other also determines the style of the jacket and the harmony that this can give to the shape of your body whether you are a dandy or a groom who for the first time he enters the men’s fashion and the groom’s ceremony. The experts in their stra chic video will reveal to you the aesthetic canons that a true gentleman cannot not know! For example, a tight collar gives a more casual look to the look and slims the figure on low people.

The wide lapels, which cover the chest area the most, are perfect for men with a large and robust build. But what clearly distinguishes the models of the lapels is the cran, that is the small gap that interrupts the line of the lapel of the jacket by partially separating the fabric of the neck from the collar itself. Regarding the width and length of the lapels, there are different styles and schools of thought. The traditional Neapolitan tailoring has always opted for a more generous rever and therefore with a wider chest, while the Nordic tailoring schools are more inclined to pack content lapel.

Here are the different types of lapels because in men’s fashion, as in life, the dandy wants a chic sobriety! In fact, the men’s jackets models are so many and so different that to speak generically of “jacket” can easily be misleading. Here is a small guide to learn about the most common types of jackets and their variations in the panorama of men’s fashion trends. Cleofe Finati’s style experts will reveal everything about the groom and men’s fashion scene! There are three types of lapels for jackets: lapel spear; classic notched rever; shawl collar.

SPEAR REVERS:  The straight lapels for single-breasted jacket and one button is used for the tight jacket. It is also the typical rever of double-breasted jackets but today it is also widely used for single-breasted and two-button jackets, or three-buttoned jackets. The lapels are also used for the coats. You will be wonderful for your meeting look and formal but clean allure

CLASSIC REVERS:  The most widespread and also the most common and easy to wear. Typical of the single-breasted jacket, it is characterized by a cut in the fabric similar to a step or a tooth. On jackets at one breast the rever is straight or has a slight curve. if you are a glamorous man who in everyday life wants to be chic and elegant without giving up a sporty freshness, this could be your jacket.

SHAWL REVERS:  It is characterized by the lack of the cran, the cut that separates the real rever from the collar. It is typical of tuxedo jackets, single-breasted, and chamber jackets. You will be a beautiful dandy for a wedding, an event of the highest level or to which you particularly care.
